Reading Response Day

#1 The setting takes place in, I'm pretty sure, New England. I can't relate to this because I have never been to New England, but I would sure like too!!

#2 They are in New England and got a phone call from long distance. The person on the phone was long distance aunt Jane is playing to move back to New England. They are planning to move her into our own house.

Extra Comments: did your chapter 1 start on page 1 or page14 like mine?Abbi:yah it did end on page 14. Wierd right.

Reading Response Day 3

#1 My favorite character's are Benny and Violet because they like to adventure around like me. Also they seem fun to play with. My least favorite character is the store keeper because he seems like he's hiding something. Also he seems a little mean to not tell them about anything about the house. Also the roof guy because he seems to be hiding something just like his dad the stoer keeper. They seem suspicuis because they aren't telling the the Alden's what is wrong with the house. What is intresting is that they have said nothing about the woodshed. I think they hid something like in there and don't want to tell mr.Alden's. I think something is going to happen to aunt Jane because the two men aren't telling any of the Alden's about the house at all.

#2 My favorite character is Benny and grandfather because they are always ready for the next move to be made. Kind of like me I am always ready for something exciting and fun to pop up. But anyway back to my FAVORITE! Characters. They also seemed to think that the roof man was acting suspicious just like me. That is why I really like them because they have the same thoughts going through their head just like me. My lease favorite characters are the store keeper and the roof man because they seem to be holding a secret that would be nice to know if you were living in the house or going to live there. Like if there was something in the woodshed like the title says that could endanger aunt Jane. And the roof man was kid of mean or rude to his wife because he just said make these six people a sandwich and give them a jug of milk.

Extra Comments: Abbi; Do you think that the mr.Morse is hiding something from the Alden's about the house??
Reading Response Day 5

#1 The main events so far are when the Alden kids[some of the main characters] find the woodshed and find out someone is living in there. Then when they go out to check again with Sam [ on of aunt Janes friends another main characters] goes with the kids the person who lived in the woodshed was gone. Another main event was when aunt Jane moved in the old barn where aunt Jane and grandfather grew
Another event was when grandfather [the kids gardian\grandpa] told the kids about Andy Bean [grandfather and aunt Janes old neighbor] and how he ran away from his house right after he used a gun and, I think, started a fire. Now they are trying to find out where he is now. In the first part of the book the store keeper, a kind of important character, told them only about the roof, nothing else about the house untill they were in the car and already leaving, witch I think is kind of suspicuis.

#2 The main events of the story just started taking action. Like aunt Jane moving in to town or back into town and when aunt Jane said the woods were boring and then they asked what was in the woods and she menchened the woodshed they got all anxious and they headed off into the woods to find it when they found it they opened up the huge door and peeked inside they couldn't see a thing but then there eyes got used to it then they went in further in because they could see. Then they noticed that there was a table in there with sivilware and plates and bowls and in the corner they even found a bed. Then they went back to the farm to go get Sam so that they could show him it. But when they got there every thing inn there was gone it was an empty woodshed. Anouther main event was when they met everyone including the bean family ( they were the family with son that is missing) that family raised hens so they had eggs that they sold to people and each day 3eggs were stolen and they found 3eggs in the woodshed. Those were the main events in the story that I thought were important.

Extra Comments: Abbi; Do you think that Andy Bean is living in the woodshed?

Mrs. Rowe: Has the store keeper said anything else about the house? Great response Abbi! Abbi; No. Except about the roof and about Andy Bean.

Reading Response Day 7

#1 My connection was when they found the woodshed. My connectionwas the book I read was The Doll House Murdurers. The connection was when the main character of the story, I forgot her name, found a dollhouse, just like the Alden kids did, and she found a secret about it, just like the kids. Another connection was when was the part when the kids found the gun in the "cellar" of the woodshed. This reminded me of the same book The Dollhouse murdurers because when the main character finds the dollhuse and sees that the dolls move to show a secret story of when her grandma grandpa got murdured. Like Samantha the kids seem like archetects because they like to wonder around and be like detectives. So they are more like detectives to me.

#2 one of my favorite connections is when they found the iron box it is kind of like getting a birthday gift and not knowing what is in it. Another connection I have is how they are finding all of these things underground makes them seem like they are archeologists because they are also dating the times from when those things would have been around. When they found the underground room/tunnel it mast have been like your first time at a waterpark or somewhere you have never been before and you are just discovering things and looking around.

Reading Response Day 9

#1 I think the turning point in the story was when aunt Jane said " I want to shoot that Andy Bean!!!". Andy loved Jane when they were kids and asked her to marry him, but she said no. Willie [the messanger for the Bean's eggs and goods] was spying on aunt Jane, when she said that, for Andy Bean who lives in the woodshed, that we just found out in the chapter we read. Willie told Andy what aunt Jane said so he went off to sea to run away, again. Fifteeen minutes after he left on the bus was when Willie told Sam and the Alden kids about Andy leaving, again. So they hopped into Sam's car and chased after the bus to find Andy. When they caught up and told Andy to go with them, but he refused, untill Sam told Andy that the kids weren't lying when they said she was tired and wasn't thinking. So he went along and went to the house together. It gave aunt Jane a good surprise to see him. It also gave her a good suprpise, and the kids, when he gave her jewels from all around the world, the kids got some, too.

#2 I think the turning point in the story is when they found the woodshed because it has been the setting in the rest of the days I have been reading. There have been multiple plots around the woodshed. Like when the stuff was there then wasn't there. We also just found out today that Andy bean was actully staying in the woodshed. He was not lost or he did not run away. Once they found Andy they tried to convince him to come back to the house but he said no because Jane was there. But he finally said yes and gave the jewels to Jane.

Extra Comments: Abbi; Would you read another book from this serise?? I would.
